Rude Rock to Mount Rosa Winery
Over 1000 metres of descent plus a winery experience!
You will be blown away by this mountain bike and wine combo – ideal for mixed level riders – that highlights the very best of Queenstown biking and finishes with a winery experience! We start on the famous Rude Rock MTB trail. 3km of downhill magic following the contours of the rocky slopes of Coronet Peak. You’ll be grinning all the way as you find your bike legs with a grandstand view of The Remarkables mountains and the Wakatipu basin at your feet! (Option: this is the most technical trail of the day and can be avoided by starting at the bottom of Rude Rock. Your guide will help you decide.) From here you’ll jump onto the fun, flowy trail that joins the traverse to Bush Creek Saddle and onto an amazing backcountry descent into Arrowtown. This is spectacular New Zealand at its best, and what better way to travel it than via a super-varied intermediate trail! In Arrowtown enjoy a coffee or explore the picturesque main street or Chinese gold mining settlement – before the stunning ride along river gorges and over suspension bridges to the historic bungy bridge. A highlight is watching the bungy jumpers – feel the adrenalin as you ride over the bungy jump bridge and past the jumpers! Next, we ride through the Gibbston Valley vineyards. This section is smooth and wide. There’s an optional short technical trail overlooking the turquoise waters of the Kawarau River or stay with the smooth trail. Your incredible day will finish on a high at Mount Rosa winery where a delicious and well-deserved Valley Platter and tasting of 5 wines awaits! All included in the package. Relax and relive your day as you soak in the vineyard vibes, until you are ready to be driven back to your accommodation. TRIP DETAILS Duration: 6-7 hrs This trip is partly guided and partly on your own, but support and communication is available throughout the day. NOTE: There are always chances to avoid technical sections and travel in the support vehicle. Cancellation Policy
•Up until 10 days prior to the date and time of travel customers may change or cancel the booking. Between 10 days and 3 days, a cancellation fee of 25% will apply. •Cancellations made within 3 days prior to tour departure will not be refunded. •The Ride Guide may cancel inside 24 hours of your ride due to weather or trail conditions. If this happens you will get a full refund and the option to rebook. •Please note that some of the trails you have booked may not be available due to trail and weather conditions on the day or if you fail to meet the skill level required for a particular trail.
